Feb 2013, digital

A surprise for a friend who always makes me smile.

Entirely digital. I lost track of how much time, as it was broken up into several blocks over several days. I needed a sample of an 8x10 panel, and Bear got picked, since I learned that the USPS thwarted my attempts at holiday greetings to him. :(

The background on this one is really great, and I love the feeling of motion you got in here even with the stylized stained glass. It's all, "mmmmm bamboo! nom, nom, nom!"

XD I figured it was about time I did an actually wildlife one, too. I keep thinking I've done them, but they never materialize out of my head. >.>

You may have answered this before someplace else, but have you considered doing actual stained-glass work - or have you done it before, even? Your designs deserve to be cut and soldered and hung in people's windows.

Oh, it's not that I don't WANT to ... I just don't have the place for it right now (or the $$ either, currently). I want to eventually. I've only actually done one little one, in a workshop when I was visiting *Dreamspirit a couple of years ago. I helped her out with her hawk design (and we both learned about where not to make lines meet!), but mine I never have photographed and put it here, it's just a wee little thing.

So meanwhile I do it digitally. At least this way I'll have no shortage of designs when I am able to do the real thing!
