Wool roving over pipe cleaner armature, air clay hooves and horn, glass bead eyes, August 2012. About 4" tall.
My second attempt at needle felting (the first was a bumblebee, and will not make it to dA)! He is a little bit derpy, but I learned a lot from him -- like, don't use pipe cleaners on things with spindly little legs and tail. And that I should maybe acquire a couple of thimbles. You'll probably be seeing more of this type of thing from me. I think I like it. Plus I have a boatload of roving still to use!
I know what you mean. Once I find something I can use as a backdrop for gaming minis, I have a tendency to over-use it rather than taking a chance with a bit of variety. At a glance at your other pictures, it looks like you don't have that problem, though.
No, I've resisted revisiting the bricks again (yet) ... they're so tempting, though, with all that delicious fluffy moss! I'll be using them again soon, most likely.
pretty body, pretty mane
